New Fringe venue to provide stage for “home-grown talent”
A new Fringe venue has been launched in Leith with the hope of bringing thousands of new visitors to the North of Edinburgh.
Leith on the Fringe is an extension of the Edinburgh Festivals network and will take place over the course of four weeks at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall on Dalmeny Street.
The hub will be its own venue with cafe, bar and box office and has the potential to attract over 26,000 visitors to Leith through a diverse and highly entertaining programme of affordable performances and workshops including circus, aerial and street art as well as physical theatre and dance disciplines.
It will also be the main platform for home grown and global talent working to present work, run workshops and network during the Fringe and throughout the year.
The team behind this project are all locals and have 13 years of experience working in the arts.
Leith on the Fringe is a not-for-profit organisation and any money that is still outstanding at the end of the festival will go towards the creation of work that year.
