If you are a Starbucks regular then there is a way to get free cake today – or indeed any Saturday in February. Cake to Share on Saturdays is their latest Facebook Deal.

Starbucks explain:-“Any Saturday in February, use your mobile to ‘check in’ to your local Starbucks on Facebook Places with a friend, then buy any two drinks and we’ll give you a free piece of cake (and two forks) to share.  All you need is an iPhone, Android or Windows 7 Phone with the Facebook app installed.

The Scotsman reports that there is a chance that the former Odeon building may yet be demolished. The property has not been sold by its owners who have resubmitted plans for development of the building.

If you are having some difficulty finding a Valentine in Edinburgh then maybe you should head for the ski slopes at Glencoe tomorrow.  The Glencoe Ski Company said:-“Let’s face it, it’s hard to find someone nice these days and even harder to find someone who shares your interests…so what better way to find a like-minded date than to share your mutual love of snow-sports?

Glencoe Mountain Resort will be hosting  a  ‘Ski-Dating’ event (don’t worry, Boarders are welcome too, it just didn’t have the same ring to it!) on Sunday February 13th, so wax your skis and boards and get practicing your best lift line chat!”  With four inches of fresh snow on all the runs reported this morning it could be a good day out on the slopes.
