South Queensferry lifeboat news

It’s been a busy start to the year for RNLI Queensferry Lifeboat, the busiest in Scotland over the summer months, as the crew were called out twice in 24 hours this weekend.

They first of all attended an incident on the Forth Road Bridge in the early hours of Sunday morning, but were stood down after over an hour when the police removed a person from the Bridge.

About twelve hours later at 1.10pm. the RNLI Queensferry Lifeboat crew were again paged, when a group of three adults and a child were trapped on Cramond Island by the fast incoming tide in freezing conditions. The crew took them aboard the Lifeboat and safely landed them ashore at Cramond and then returned to the RNLI Queensferry Lifeboat Station at the Hawes Pier, South Queensferry.
