Open Eye Gallery – September 2010
A new exhibition at The Open Eye begins this Friday 24th September with Irishman Liam Flynn’s New Wood Vessels on show. Flynn has been making wood vessels in his Co. Limerick studio for 25 years. His works are a regular feature on the international circuit marking him as one of the most accomplished wood turners of recent times
The exhibition also includes ‘New Paintings’ by David Schofield such as Lost Summer and One Afternoon, One Summer. A graduate of Duncan Jordanstone College of Art, David has been exhibiting his paintings both throughout the country and internationally from 1997. David is a regular exhibitor at the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts.
The paintings of Angus McEwan ARWS RSW on a theme called ‘Resonance’ are entitled Make Do and Mend, Many Faces of Victory and Chain of Office. A graduate of Duncan and Jordanstone Collage of Art, Angus focuses mainly on Cuba for this exhibition. His paintings reflect his natural desire to record and observe, and his opinions and points of view of the places he visits.
The exhibitions run from Friday 24th September to 12th October Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10 am to 4pm.
