A police investigation is underway after a man’s body was discovered around 9am this morning on Silverknowes beach.
The scene has been cordoned off to allow for a forensic examination.
Officers are now attempting to identify the man and establish the full circumstances surrounding his death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a man’s body found near Silverknowes beach, Edinburgh, around 9am on Monday, 5 October.
“Officers and the ambulance service are currently in attendance.
“Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the identity of the man and the full circumstances.”
