The science comedy phenomenon, Festival of the Spoken Nerd, returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with a brand new show and this time they’re off the chart. Join this trio as they Excel themselves with graph-a-minute fun on an unprecedented linear scale.
Just for Graphs will be packed with explosive live experiments and statistically significant laughter but will “the nerds” stay ontrend, or lose the plot completely? Stand-up mathematician Matt Parker (Discovery’s You have been Warned) plans to use the audience as a human speaker cable, Experiments maestro Steve Mould (BBC1’s Britain’s Brightest) will be “setting charts on fire” and performing stand-up based on data from the birth of his first child and geek songstress Helen Arney (BBC2’s Coast) sings an emotional tribute to the intrepid Philae lander, which travelled 4 billion miles to “do a science” on comet 67P.
Since their smash hit 2012 Edinburgh Fringe show Full Frontal Nerdity, Festival of the Spoken Nerd have completed an extensive tour of the UK, filmed their first DVD which is available for pre-order now and racked up over a million views on YouTube for their experiments, songs and stand-up. As well as sell out shows all over the UK, FOTSN have performed at Shakespeare’s Globe, Hammersmith Apollo (as part of Robin Ince and Brian Cox’s rationalist Christmas shows), The British Library, TED and this summer they will make their Las Vegas debut at ‘The Amaz!ng Meeting’.
Individually they’ve been busy too. Matt published his first book “Things to Make and Do in the Fourth Dimension” and appeared in Discovery’s You Have Been Warned and Channel 4’s Mating Season. Steve has appeared on The One Show to talk about the infamous Blue/Black (or was it White/Gold?) dress, and his amazing beads (The Mould Effect) have featured in a peer reviewed journal of the Royal Society and on QI. Meanwhile, Helen has performed at CERN in Geneva and Google headquarters in California, and filmed another series of BBC2 Coast and Discovery’s You Have Been Warned.
Recommended age 14+ due to strong language and graphic material.
